John is a Partner based in our Perth office. He specialises in Estate Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Guardianships, Private Trusts, Executries, Asset Management and Mental Health Legislation. A graduate of Aberdeen University, John joined Miller Sneddon in 1988 where he was assumed a Partner in 1991 and has worked in the Perth and Dundee offices of the firm which became Miller Hendry in 1991. Before becoming Chairman of the firm John was Head of the Private Client Department and before that Head of the Residential Property Department. John is a Convenor of the Mental Health Tribunal of Scotland. Amongst his outside interests he is the Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of Perth Anglers Club, Honorary Secretary of the Perth Branch of the Save The Children Fund, a High Constable, a member of the Committees of Management of Bowerswell Memorial Home (Perth) Ltd. and Crossroads (Perth & Kinross) Care Attendant Scheme Ltd. as well as a Director and Trustee on several other bodies. He is also a member of Blairgowrie Golf Club and Perth Curling Club. John is married with two children and lives in Perth.
