Born and brought up in Perth, Emma went on to obtain an Honours Degree in Law from the University of Aberdeen, followed by the Diploma in Legal Practice. After completing her legal training in 1998, she joined Miller Hendry as a Solicitor in the Commercial Department in Perth, where she worked on a broad range of commercial matters. In 2001, Emma and her husband moved to Jersey, where she was promoted to the position of Associate with Voisin & Co., a leading offshore legal firm. In Jersey, she advised on a range of commercial and trust matters, acting for several high profile clients. She undertook the first company merger to take place on the Island, following a change in the law, and advised various Banks and City law firms on the offshore aspects of everything from the financing of a new shopping centre to the funding of films! In 2004, Emma returned to Scotland and resumed working for the Commercial Department of Miller Hendry in Perth in 2005. Emma is a Senior Solicitor with the firm, and lives in Fife with her husband and three young sons.
